ANZAC Day 2020
The rules on social gatherings has resulted in the traditional ANZAC Day Remembrances being cancelled this year.
In order that we as a Polish Community of Adelaide were able to acknowledge to contribution and sacrifice our forebearers have made in fighting for our freedom and our democracy, the Federation has arranged for a service of remembrance to be held at 11:00am on Saturday 25th April, at the Katyn Memorial in the courtyard, fronting the Dom Polski Centre, 230 Angas Street Adelaide.
The Federation has arranged for:
Ks Michal Skiba SChr to lead a ceremony in memory of those who have sacrificed their live in a fight for freedom
Three wreaths were placed at the memorial, commemorating:
- Those who have fallen as a result of War
- The 80th anniversary of the Katyn Massacre
- The 75th anniversary of the liberation of Nazi Concentration Camps particularly Auschwitz
At the end of ceremony the Last Post was played.
